This course will better inform the designer on moisture management in the building envelope and related considerations. The designer will evaluate Rainscreen and wall assembly options and gain an understanding of how to incorporate Rainscreen into their building envelope system.

By completing this course the design professional will be able to:

1. Provide a high level explanation about building owner considerations and how it relates to building envelope design requirements

2. Describe the design process in the context of moisture loads, transport and control layers

3. Discuss several risk factors in relation to moisture management in building envelopes

4. Identify the different types of wall assemblies

5. Be able to implement a ventilated Rainscreen in your design with panel claddings

Facilitator, Mike Mazurk is a Multifamily and Commercial Specialist at James Hardie Building Products. A 16-year veteran of the building materials industry, Mike has worked in manufacturing and distribution regionally and nationally and has always been based in the Atlanta Market. His background is in fasteners with a broad coverage of most building materials and a current specialization in fiber cement covering Custom Home builder to Commercial projects.
